Is Shade Being Thrown at the ‘Shallow’ Artists?

At the 2019 Oscars Academy Awards, singers Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper won an award for their song ‘Shallow’, becoming the Best Original Song! Yet, not everyone is at the edge of their seats to congratulate the artists’ efforts. Enter Jennifer Esposito!
Esposito is the ex-wife to Bradley Cooper, being with him for five months before the split. Comedian David Spade had poked fun at the Oscars performers’ intimacy on a post on Instagram.
Was Esposito’s comment following Spade’s humor? Or was she throwing shade at her ex-husband?
This isn’t the first time that Esposito had talked about Cooper in a less-than-positive light. In her memoir ‘Jennifer’s Way’, she mentions how the American Sniper actor is a “master manipulator”, also stating that there were many “red flags” prior, yet ignored them because she “didn’t think the relationship would go anywhere.” She also states that she didn’t necessarily find him attractive, yet decided to bask in the presence of his humor and nonsense for a little while. She continues to mention other tendencies about their relationship as the book goes on.
Bradley Cooper’s girlfriend, Irina Shayk, was not phased by the performance. Rather, a source states that “It’s a nonissue for her. Irina knows that Bradley and Gaga are artists. They were in character putting on an Oscar performance.” Contrary to Esposito’s reaction to the artists’ connection, Shayk was among the first people in the audience to jump from their seat after the announcement for the award of Best Original Song was made, as well as embracing the songstress and Cooper, with whom she shares a 23-month-old daughter, in big hugs.
On another note, Lady Gaga had split from her fiancé, Christian Carino, after being together for two years. Is this coincidence? Or is there more going on behind the scenes?
